StarTrip Driver Policy

This Driver Policy (“Policy”) governs participation in the StarTrip platform by individuals providing driving services (“Drivers”). By registering as a Driver and using the StarTrip Driver App, you (“Driver”) agree to comply with this Policy, the StarTrip Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service.

 

 

 

1. Relationship Between StarTrip and Drivers

 

 

1.1 Independent Contractor Status

 

  • Drivers are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of StarTrip.

  • Drivers are solely responsible for their tax obligations, licenses, permits, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with all applicable laws.

  • Nothing in this Policy creates an employment relationship.

 

 

1.2 No Guarantee of Trips

 

  • StarTrip does not guarantee trip requests, Rider availability, or earnings.

 

 

 

 

2. Driver Eligibility & Requirements

 

 

To operate as a Driver on StarTrip, you must:

 

  • Be at least 21 years old.

  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Provide a roadworthy vehicle with valid registration and insurance.

  • Maintain your vehicle in safe and clean condition.

  • Pass background checks, document verification, or inspections required by StarTrip.

  • Maintain a minimum Driver rating of 2 stars. Drivers rated at 1 star will be deactivated.

 

 

 

 

3. Driver Conduct

 

 

Drivers agree to:

 

  • Provide safe, professional, and respectful service.

  • Comply with all road traffic laws.

  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances.

  • Not engage in fraudulent, abusive, discriminatory, or unlawful behavior.

  • Keep Rider information confidential, using it only to complete rides.

 

 

 

 

4. Earnings, Fees & Payments

 

 

4.1 Earnings Model

 

  • Drivers keep 100% of fares minus a 30% service fee retained by StarTrip.

  • This service fee may be adjusted at StarTrip’s sole discretion.

 

 

4.2 Payouts

 

  • Driver payouts will be processed within a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 14 days, subject to StarTrip’s operational timelines.

  • StarTrip may delay payouts in cases of fraud, disputes, or legal requirements.

 

 

4.3 Cash Transactions

 

  • Drivers may accept cash payments from Riders.

  • Any cash transaction above 200 Kina requires the Driver to visit the StarTrip office to settle the platform’s service fee before reactivation on the app.

  • This threshold and settlement requirement may be amended at StarTrip’s discretion at any time.

 

 

4.4 Taxes

 

  • Drivers are solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes on their earnings. StarTrip does not withhold or remit taxes on behalf of Drivers.

 

 

 

 

5. Insurance & Liability

 

 

  • Drivers must maintain valid insurance (vehicle and third-party, where required by law).

  • StarTrip does not provide insurance coverage for Drivers, Riders, vehicles, or property.

  • In case of an accident, Drivers must contact emergency services, insurance providers, and notify StarTrip.

 

 

 

 

6. Suspension & Termination

 

 

StarTrip may suspend or permanently deactivate a Driver for:

 

  • Breach of this Policy, Privacy Policy, or Terms of Service.

  • Unsafe driving, reckless conduct, or repeated Rider complaints.

  • Failing to maintain a minimum 2-star rating.

  • Fraudulent behavior or failure to settle cash commission obligations.

  • Refusal to comply with investigations, verifications, or updated requirements.

 

 

Drivers may terminate their participation by ceasing use of the Driver App.

 

 

 

7. Data & Privacy

 

 

Driver personal data will be processed in accordance with the StarTrip Privacy Policy. Trip, earnings, and settlement data may be shared with Riders, regulators, and service providers as required.

 

 

 

8. Indemnification & Limitation of Liability

 

 

8.1 Indemnification

Drivers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StarTrip, its affiliates, officers, and employees against any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:

 

  • Accidents or misconduct while providing trips.

  • Breach of this Policy or applicable laws.

  • Misuse of Rider data.

 

 

8.2 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StarTrip’s liability to Drivers is limited to the amount of fees paid by StarTrip to the Driver in the three (3) months preceding any claim.

 

 

 

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

 

 

  • This Policy shall be governed by the laws of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, or the jurisdiction in which the Driver operates (as determined by StarTrip).

  • Disputes shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration in the relevant jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by law.

 

 

 

 

10. Amendments

 

 

StarTrip may update this Policy at any time. Continued use of the Driver App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
